This excerpt from the film WHAT IS YOGA captures a moment with Sharonji.
“Most of us identify with our bodies, but we don’t really know our bodies. And through the yoga practice of asanas, you really get to know your bodies, inside and out. When you get to know your body on that level, you know you’re not the body. You know you’re something else...who is able to go in there and investigate.”
What do you feel in asana practice? What do you learn? What have you uncovered about your Self when you practice? Maybe it’s physical. Many times, it’s not; it’s psychological, or spiritual and/or emotional. How do you see the body as a tool for self-inquiry, self-discovery and growth?
